Donate for Martyrs of Border Security Force (BSF)

Previous topic - Next topic
QuoteTo donate specifically to the families of Border Security Force (BSF) martyrs, the most secure and direct government channel is the Bharat Ke Veer portal (bharatkeveer.gov.in), managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. You can choose to donate to a specific soldier's family or to the general corpus fund. Do not trust private websites or unverified UPI links circulating on social media.

The BSF is a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), not part of the Army (Defence). Therefore, donations to the Army Welfare Fund do not reach BSF families. The Bharat Ke Veer initiative was launched specifically for CAPFs (BSF, CRPF, CISF, etc.) to ensure that financial aid reaches the Next of Kin (NoK) directly without bureaucratic delays.

What You Need Before Starting

Alternative: The Corpus Fund

  • This money is managed by a committee of eminent persons and government officials.
  • It is disbursed to families of martyrs on a need basis or when a fresh casualty occurs.

Things to Watch Out For
  • Fake UPI IDs: Scammers often circulate UPI IDs like bsf-donation@upi or army-fund@upi. These are fake. The BSF never collects money via personal UPI IDs on WhatsApp. Always use the government portal.
  • Tax Exemption: Donations to Bharat Ke Veer are eligible for 100% deduction under Section 80G. However, this is only applicable if you opt for the Old Tax Regime. Under the New Tax Regime, 80G deductions are not available.
