3. Select the Plan Option

• 1X Refund (Cash): The base fare of the train ticket is refunded to your original payment source (Bank/UPI). This is the standard IRCTC refund.
• 2X Voucher (For Flights/Bus): If you choose to book a Flight or Bus, you get a voucher worth up to 2X the train fare. Total value = 3X.
• 1X Voucher (For Train): If you choose to book another Train, you typically only get a voucher worth 1X the fare. Total value = 2X.

The Distance Restriction (The 300km Rule):
You cannot use the voucher to fly anywhere. The new flight or bus booking must be for a route where the source and destination are within 300 km of your original train stations. You cannot book a failed Delhi-Mumbai train ticket and use the voucher to fly Delhi-Bangalore.

The 7-Day Clock:
The Voucher is extremely time-sensitive. It expires 7 days from the date of chart preparation. You strictly must use it to book an immediate alternative for the trip you just lost.

Things to Watch Out For

• The RAC Trap: This is the most critical failure point. If your Waitlisted ticket moves to RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) status at chart preparation, ixigo considers the trip Successful. You get a seat (even if it is half a seat), and you are not eligible for the Alternate Travel Plan refund. You get zero benefits from the extra fee you paid.
• Manual Cancellation Void: If you get nervous and cancel the ticket yourself 6 hours before the train, you void the plan. You must let the system auto-cancel the ticket after chart preparation to trigger the payouts.
